What costs the planner covers
Flights: Total round-trip airfare for all travelers. Use a flight search tool (Google Flights, Skyscanner, or similar) to find realistic prices for your dates and departure airport before entering this figure.
Accommodation: Your nightly accommodation cost multiplied by number of nights. Check booking platforms for realistic rates at your destination — prices vary enormously by area, season, and booking timing.
Food: Daily food budget per person, covering all meals. Budget travelers eating street food and local restaurants spend $15–30/day in Southeast Asia and $30–50 in Europe. Those dining at tourist restaurants spend 2–3x more.
Local transport: Daily allowance for metro, buses, taxis, ride-shares, and day trips. Varies widely — a metro-equipped city like Tokyo or Paris is far cheaper for getting around than a destination requiring taxis.
Attractions: Museums, guided tours, entry fees, cultural experiences. City destinations with many paid attractions (Rome, Paris, Tokyo) budget $20–50/day. Beach or nature destinations often require less.
Shopping: Souvenirs and personal purchases for the whole trip. Easy to underestimate — especially in markets where bargaining is expected.
